So, I’m back;
I don’t know why I put a semi-colon there. I wanted a semi-colon, so there will be a semi-colon.
For the past month and a bit, I’ve been very MIA for a bunch of reasons. Firstly and most importantly, I was in the army doing basic training for the past 3-4 weeks, which means I had either no time or no battery on my phone to tumblr with. At any rate, it’s been a fabtastic experience- there was a lot of being screamed at by commanders (who were all younger than most of us girls who do the army-sponsored-uni-thing, by the way), but remembering it’s all an act that is made to shock us into shape and obedience, it was actually lots of fun. I’m proud to say I wasn’t punished by push ups even once (which doesn’t come to say I was that good a girl, but rather that I was clever about when to keep my mouth shut). I did get punished a leaving hour (as in I leave an hour later than the rest) because I left my gun away from me at some point (NOT ALLOWED. Has to be on you at all times, showers included, and under your head when you sleep). It went something like:
Team: 20 SECONDS (to stand stretched at a certain place)
Me: I’m forgetting something… Hat? On my head. Water? SHIT my water! (which you’re also not allowed to ditch ever) *runs like hell to get the water, gets back*
Commander: Step back.
Me: …?
Commander: Well done on remembering your water on time.
Me: :D
Commander: Now where the hell is your gun soldier?
Me: … D:
To sum that up, I met heaps of awesome people, did my best to make my commanders laugh (they’re not allowed to laugh in front of us, it’s a “distance” thing, so they would always turn or cover their face or something), sometimes successfully, enjoyed working in the kitchen, shot a gun, and broke a whole lot of food-related personal records.
So that was that.
Right before that, I had the insane week of moving apartment (I’m moving again in 2 weeks, by the by), getting ready for the army, last-days-of-semester-uni-stuff, etc etc. Much less interesting.
A photo to partially make up for my MIA-ness:

We call this cat Hamefakedet (which means The Commander, in feminine form in Hebrew). It lived with us in the tents and is the most pleasant cat ever. I have more entertaining pics with friends, but I don’t know if I’m allowed to post them.
